The 2011 YA! Band
The YA Band started getting together every Thursday after school at Almonte District High School with the intention of being a really great funky soul R&B dance band. The result has always culminated with a show stealing performance at the Young Awards Gala.
This group is open to all students ranging from grade 8 to 12 and is intended to supplement the school band experience by providing an opportunity for young musicians to enhance their ensemble playing and improvisational skills within a structured format.
This talented ten piece group was specially created for the Young Awards Gala, combining seasoned professionals and aspiring young musicians. Featuring Bill Serson, Jon Caven, Me, Rob Riendeau, Ian Douglas (not pictured) with, Jordan McIntosh and Emilie Scott singing leads and back up vocals; Mathew Bassett on trumpet, Miles Hanks on trombone and Alex Gawn on tenor sax.

The 2013 YA! Band featured Sam Gervais on guitar (gr. 8), Adam Mansfield on percussion and guitar (gr. 8), Liam Mansfield on percussion and guitar (gr. 10), Ric Denis on bass, Aaron Rudyk on cello (gr. 11), Max Donaldson on keyboard (gr. 9) and Sara Milligan on vocals (gr. 8).
The 2014 YA! Band
The 2014 YA! Band featured Kallie Allen on trumpet/trombone (gr.9), Jackson Denis on trumpet (gr.9), Aaron Rudyk on Cello (gr.12), Alex George on violin/mandolin (gr. 8), Austin Lloyd on bass (gr. 12) and Liam Hans on drums (home school); with vocals by Ric Denis, Terry Tuffs and Steve Reside.
